SKY Sponsors HWAC's Spring Fling for 5th Year
On June 2, 2018, Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC) held it's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Spring Fling and SKY is proud to be a sponsor again - for the 5th year!
Located in Rancho Santa Fe, HWAC is a non-profit that rescues orphaned animals, provides them with life-saving medical care and gives them as long as it takes to find them a home of their own. HWAC also focuses on animal-centric educational and therapeutic programs for children and people with disabilities. The 2018 Spring Fling marked the 30th year for this much-anticipated gala. The theme of the evening was "A Moonlight Masquerade" featuring live music, silent and live auctions, opportunity drawings, and a collection of restaurants from the local area showcasing selections from their menu— all to an exclusive audience of 350 animal lovers dressed to the nines. "This year's Spring Fling raised $920,000," shared a representative from HWAC, "We are so incredibly grateful!"
In 2013, our VP Amber was asked by HWAC leadership to join the volunteer Event Committee responsible for putting on the Spring Fling. Amber served on the Committee for two years and in the process became a strong supporter of the good work HWAC is doing for the orphaned animals in our community. Ever since, SKY has been a proud sponsor of this important annual fundraiser. If you've attended the event over the years, you may have noticed the signature cocktail "brought to you" by SKY, the SKY goodie bags sent home with guests and the SKY water bottles at every table. We love HWAC and we love being involved every year with this amazing event that keeps the FUN in fundraising!
And when it came time for the Yoos to adopt a cat, it was HWAC they turned to. Amber and Dr. Yoo adopted Monarch in 2016 and renamed her Isabelle ("Izzy" for short). What a pretty kitty!
