Amber Honored as Finalist for San Diego Woman of the Year Award

San Diego Magazine’s 10th annual Woman of the Year Awards returned last night. Our Vice President, Amber, had the honor of being named one of the top finalists for this prestigious recognition. Dr. Yoo and Amber were in attendance at the event, which was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla.

A networking hour kicked-off the event accompanied by the sounds of a live jazz band. The attendees enjoyed a beautiful ocean view with a setting sun, as they sipped on their beverages and savored h’orderves by Toast Catering. The mushroom pizza and beef sliders were especially delicious!

Following the networking hour, a panel discussion began with powerful women from various business sectors who spoke motivational words about mentoring others and their success stories. They also shared advice about how to overcome challenges that they had faced professionally.

Amber was in the company of some of the most dynamic women in San Diego who are committed to creating a positive change.  “I’m extremely happy to be in a city that acknowledges and honors women leaders. I can tell you that I am inspired every single day by the women in our community who are making a powerful impact,” shared Amber. “I’m humbled and honored to be considered one among them.”

A huge congratulations is in order to all the finalists, and especially to the 2015 winner, President of Cal State San Marcos, Karen S. Haynes Ph.D.
