Beauty Night Fundraiser Raises Nearly $5,000 for Children
Last week we wrapped up a month-long fundraising campaign for Rady Children’s Hospital Del Mar Auxiliary Unit, a group of volunteers that is working tirelessly to raise money to help fund the Hospital’s first pediatric heart transplant surgeries. On Friday, Apr. 10, we presented Unit leaders Judy Rowles and Melinda Tucker with a check for nearly $5,000!!!
“We are honored to be able to contribute in some small way to San Diego’s first pediatric heart transplant program,” stated Dr. Sirius K. Yoo, SKY’s owner and facial plastic surgeon. “A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful patients who made this donation possible.”
The donation stemmed from a Mar. 19 “Beauty Night” fundraiser at SKY, where Rady supporters enjoyed cocktails, appetizers and an educational seminar from Dr. Yoo on injectables and fillers. Guests were invited to come back for a private consultation with Dr. Yoo. The consultations were tracked and SKY donated 20 percent of all resulting procedure and product sales.
SKY Facial Plastic Surgery has donated more than $10,000 to causes that support Rady Children’s Hospital and also volunteers its time. Amber volunteers in the Unit and on the Auxiliary Board and our entire team participates annually in the citywide Kids' NewsDay by closing the office and hitting the streets to sell newspapers.
