Only the Best

Why do people travel to see Dr. Yoo? Because he's DOUBLE board-certified and has trained at the nation's finest universities. Dr. Yoo is one of only a select number of surgeons in the nation to complete a prestigious fellowship in facial plastic surgery at Stanford University. Learn more about his training and expertise.

Our patients also know that Dr. Yoo focuses ONLY on the face. Facial anatomy is complicated. When undergoing surgery on your face, why go to a doctor who dabbles in a little bit of everything when you can go to someone whose entire professional training has focused on the area you care about most - your face! When our patients want body work done at the same time, we partner with the best general plastic surgeons to make that happen.

Patients who choose us for facial plastic surgery feel safe knowing that Dr. Yoo operates out of his own fully accredited surgical suite. For every surgery, we staff our operating room with the same anesthesiologists and nurses that the big hospitals in San Diego use. The fact that we are accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality demonstrates our commitment to the highest standard of care for our surgery patients.

Dr. Sirius Yoo and his team are absolutely amazing. I had numerous consultations with surgeons both in Canada and the U.S before I ultimately chose Dr. Yoo for my rhinoplasty. It wasn’t even a question. I’m from Canada, so the consult was via Skype. I already knew he was the best facial plastic surgeon in San Diego, but it was a combination of both his credentials, confidence, and caring demeanor that meant the most to me. He’s also just a cool person with great bedside manner. I found lots of other surgeons I talked to, I just simply didn’t feel comfortable with.

Meet Dr. Yoo Virtually

If you live out of town, or even out of the country, you can meet Dr. Yoo virtually to ask him questions and get his surgical recommendations. The first step is to email us so that we can get your authorization to discuss medical care over the internet.  Next, we'll schedule a virtual meeting (we use Skype videoconferencing) and send you helpful instructions.

After you meet Dr. Yoo virtually, we'll send you an estimate and call or email you to discuss financing options and next steps. Usually, this involves deciding on the date of surgery. You will want to plan to stay in San Diego for at least one week. We recommend bringing a family member or friend to take care of you. We provide professional care for the first night through Reliable Recovery. Additional nights are available upon request.

Your Surgery Schedule

The day before your surgery, we will see you in our office for a pre-op appointment. At that appointment, we will explain every step of the surgery and go in depth as to what to expect afterwards. We will answer any remaining questions you have and Dr. Yoo will perform a short medical examination to make sure you are ready for surgery.

The day of surgery, you'll check in and we'll take your vitals. Dr. Yoo will meet with you again and then the anesthesiologist will escort you into the operating room. After the surgery is complete and you are awake, your caretaker will take you to your hotel.

The day after surgery, we will see you again to replace any bandages, answer any questions, and make sure everything looks great. Your caretaker will need to transport you to and from this visit.

One week after surgery, we will see you in our office for the last time to remove any stitches. You can fly home after this visit, or you are welcome to stay and enjoy San Diego! Most surgeries take about two weeks for the bruising and swelling to resolve so that you are "restaurant ready," as Dr. Yoo likes to say.
