Posing with Puppies!
by Amber N. Yoo, MBA
If you've never cuddled an 8-week old puppy while wearing a ball gown, I highly recommend it.
Last week, I had the good fortune of participating in a Ranch & Coast magazine photo shoot for Helen Woodward Animal Center’s annual Spring Fling. Those of us on the event’s planning committee got decked out in our finest and posed around three handsome Bimmers (BMW is an event sponsor) holding an assortment of adorable, fluffy puppies.
Everyone who knows me is well aware that I am passionate about helping animals. Over the years, I've worked and volunteered for a number of animal nonprofits, including the San Diego Humane Society (as a cat photographer) and the San Diego Zoo (responding to letters that children send to the Zoo).
Currently, my efforts are focused on helping the Center plan its annual Spring Fling gala at Fairbanks Village Plaza in Rancho Santa Fe. This year, Spring Fling is on June 1 and you can purchase tickets online. The Save the Date recently went out, invitations are in production, and we're planning some special moments to celebrate the event's 25th anniversary!
So how did the photo shoot go? Naturally, my puppy started whining and wriggling as soon as the photographer began to shoot! But, I didn’t mind. You know that special smell that only puppies have? One whiff and all frustrations melt away.
