The Cost of Botox: 3 Considerations When Shopping

If you’re considering Botox or fillers for the first time, here are a few things to consider:

1. How do you want to look?

The simple fact is this: No two individuals look the same. That means a different number of units may be required to achieve the same desired look. Search for a doctor who will tailor each procedure to address your unique needs, and only charge for the precise amount needed, and beware any clinic offering a flat rate for this service.

At SKY, the price is based on the number of units or syringes that are needed. Estimates are provided after Dr. Yoo has had the opportunity to discuss your desired results and examine for unique facial anatomy. We encourage you to schedule a consultation to determine what is right for you.

2. Who will be responsible for each injection?

At the end of the day: Skill matters. In California, medical doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and supervised physician’s assistants are legally allowed to inject Botox and soft tissue fillers. That means the skill level of each individual can vary enormously. To inject skillfully with natural-looking results, a doctor must have an intimate understanding of the muscle, fat and skin layers of your face, and how they interact to affect your outward appearance. Facial plastic surgeons have received such specialized training.

At SKY, all treatments are performed by Sirius K. Yoo, M.D., our double-board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Dr. Yoo trained at the nation's finest institutions and is one of only a select number of surgeons in the nation to complete a prestigious fellowship in facial plastic surgery at Stanford University.

3. What follow-up care is provided?

Botox can take up to a week to take affect, therefore follow-up consultations are essential. Your physician should ask to see you around one to two weeks after your procedure to see how you responded to treatment. At that time, additional injections may be recommended to help you achieve your desired look. Choose a provider who chooses to cultivate long-term relationships. These clinics should take your photo before and after treatment, and reach out to you 3-6 months out to see how your results are holding up.

At SKY, we pride ourselves on delivering personalized attention and outstanding care to each and every one of our patients. "It is important to me to spend time with each patient in order to establish a long-term relationship built on trust," explains Dr. Yoo. "I love helping our patients feel more confident in their everyday lives."
